Daddy had a tooth pulled a month or so ago that his Dentist just thought was an infected tooth. The pain in the side of his face did not go away and actually got worse and he finally went to see an Ear/Nose/Throat Doctor (ENT) who sent him for an MRI of his head, neck and chest and they also did a biopsy of the bone in his jaw. We got the results back on Tuesday afternoon which has confirmed that Daddy has cancer in his left cheek & jaw bone. The treatment is surgery and radiation however with Daddy’s other medical problems the Doctors are not sure if he would be able to survive surgery. He has an appointment with his heart Doctor the beginning of the week to see if he thinks Daddy’s heart could withstand surgery. He’s also got an appointment with an Oncologist/Radiologist next week to get setup for Radiation treatments. We will know more of what the course of treatment will be after his appointment with the heart Dr.
The side of his face is hurting him right much and he’s on a prescription pain medication (although he still insists on going to the barn and feeding the horses every morning). Mom seems to be doing ok right now.
