Today was a very busy day for Daddy. Dr. Chen had everyone jumping.
His wounds were redressed by the wound specialist and will be looked at again on Saturday morning.
The Pulmonologist is now working on getting Daddy's lungs working properly again. They scoped Daddy's lungs this morning and suctioned them out. He also sent Daddy down to have a scan of his chest. They are starting to wean him off the Bi-vent down to the CPAP, but this has to be done very slowly. They will switch him to the CPAP for a little while and then back to the Bi-vent until his lungs are strong enough to be on the CPAP and then they will do the same with the CPAP to being completely off the machine. Daddy was put on a medication today called Albumin. This will pull the fluid from the tissues into the blood, which will then be filtered by the kidneys. He has also been put on a very strong IV lasix that will then flush the fluids from his body. Hopefully if they can get all the excess fluids off his body then it will be easier for him to breath.
A Speech Therapist came by today and worked with Daddy a little. He did OK, but was very tired from all the other procedures of the day and the Therapist said she would come back tomorrow.
Dr. Chen said he felt more comfortable with Daddy's progress now and that he had double checked everything to make sure all his t's were crossed and i's dotted. I know we are all grateful to Dr. Chen for cutting his vacation short to come back and take care of Daddy. We have all been praying for a miracle, hopefully this is God's way of answering.

Wow it has been busy. I know you must feel some sort of relief that Dr. Chen back and taking care of Roy. He sounds like a true doctor in every way. We will keep praying that he will heal quickly. Give all your family a hug from ours.

Great to hear that Dr. Chen has everyone in line! I echo Bruce and Kim to give everyone a hug, especially your Dad! If anyone can turn him around, Dr. Chen is the one! We are still praying!

YES, THIS IS AN ANSWER TO MANY PRAYERS THAT WENT OUT YESTERDAY FOR YOUR DAD AND THE TREATMENT TEAM. GOD DOES PERFORM MIRACLES . YOUR DAD HAS A VERY CARING DOCTOR. WE WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY THAT EACH DAY YOUR DAD WILL IMPROVE.

Great News, and what a relief it was to have Dr. Chen back. We will continue to pray for healing for LeRoy and rest & peace for the family. Thanks Hollie for keeping up up-dated on the progress.

Back from Hertford. Wow! have you all been through it since I left town. So very glad Dr. Chen is on the scene again. What a wonderful doctor to cut a vacation short for a patient. Truly believe if it can be done now, Dr. Chen will bring Roy through. Blessings and prayers, Susan
