He finally had surgery, Yeah! Everything went very well. They got the screen, central line and longer trachea tube put in. All his vitals look good and he is resting very peacefully. Now that his surgery is finished he can have his pain medication again. His chest incision was really hurting him today probable because 1.) he had limited pain meds and 2.) he struggles so much when they suction the trachea tube out.
He is still on the Bi-vent machine but his oxygen has been decreased to 60% and his blood oxygen level is staying around 94 which is another step closer to getting him off the machine.
Hopefully we will have an uneventful evening/night and I will post more tomorrow.

So glad Roy finally got the surgery. What a terrible time waiting so long. The hospital trying to grow but not being able to handle what they have. Glad things went well with that. Kept checking all day on your blog and tried to send another comment but do not know if you got it or not. Love and prayers, Bill and Sue
Hollie and Debbie,
I am so glad that you decided to keep this blog of your Dad's progress. I have been following along since I found out about the surgery. I am praying for all of you. I know it is hard on everyone. Keeping his spirits up is so important right now with everything he has going on. Let me know if there is ANYTHING I can help with.
Love,
Gigi Thompson
